Figurative Language

Figurative is characterization by figures of speech.

A figure of speech is a form of expression used to convey meaning or heighten effect often by comparing or identifying one thing with another that has a meaning or connotation familiar to the reader or listener.
Imagery is a type of figurative language.
Trope is the use of a word or expression in a figurative sense.

They are all types of figurative language. They are added to a sentence to show feelings and make it more exciting.
